Whilst the Sheriff and Sir Guy are off chasing Robin Hood through field and vale, more competent leaders are required to keep the rest of the men-at-arms in check. Step, or trot, forward some Norman Commanders.
We decided to sculpt a set of commanders both on foot and mounted, as few figures are usually offered in this way. Each commander can be bought in his own blister with a foot and mounted version, or the whole command group can be bought together at a discounted price.

In the sets we have a Serjeant (left handed, strong and fierce in battle), a banner bearer to rally the troops around, a captain with leather body armour, to give the orders and a horn blower to pass on those orders.

Each figure is cast in white metal but the mounted commanders, except for the captain who is on a specially commissioned metal charger, are on plastic horses. Again, this is to reduce the cost of purchasing these miniatures.
We gave these chaps a different paint job to show them off as elite warriors but also to show that these miniatures look great in blue or red, or any other colour come to that.
This set pretty much rounds off the Norman men-at-arms but we do have a few more ideas for extra troop types to come later on, and are open to further suggestions; we have slingers, archers and Dane-axe wielding Norman troops on the drawing board – what else would you like to see released?
Now that the Norman army was finished for the time being, we moved on to give the outlaws some more generic leaders.
